Peace

Luke 1:33

Of all the ways God could have sent His son, the Savior of all creation who would rule at the right hand of the Father, He sent him as a baby. Where prophets awaited displays of brute strength and military strategy, the Messiah’s arrival was one of gentleness and humility. Where Pharisees expected him to declare himself with deafening power in the synagogues, Jesus blessed the outcasts who weren’t allowed inside them. Jesus of Nazareth was both everything and nothing like God’s people expected. His authority in Heaven was evident as demons fled at the sound of his name; yet, he was raised by a poor and powerless family. He fulfilled the prophecies of old, and he made the way possible for all who would believe, defeating death and establishing his position as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Despite all that is broken on this side of Heaven, we are blessed as God’s people with a supernatural peace that can never be stolen from us. There will never come a day when Jesus is not King, and there will never come a time when His reign is not merciful, loving, and perfect. We can truly have peace in every season we encounter. Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for inviting me into your kingdom—your family.

Question to consider:

Do you feel at peace? Are there areas of your life in which you need to give your worries over to God?
