VOLUNTEER TO SERVE
VOLUNTEER TO SERVE
A church isn’t a building, it’s people who are united by Jesus and on mission together. Our church family is made up of lots of different kinds of people, with different passions, gifts, experience, and backgrounds. For us to do the ministry God is calling us to, we all get to take steps to jump in, finding opportunities to meet the needs we have. Whether you’ve had experience serving in a church before, you’re brand new to faith in Jesus, or you’re seeing the vision and willing to take a step of faith, if you’re part of Doxa we have opportunities for you to be part of what God is doing.

Members of Doxa do ministry every week in Doxa Kids, helping kids come to know, love, and follow Jesus. Doxa Kids is a safe and fun environment for kids age 0-11 to learn the Gospel, walk through the Bible, and build friendships on Sunday mornings. Membership, a background check, and orientation are required to serve in Doxa Kids.

God has brought men and women from all over the world to Madison, many from places where they have no access to the Gospel or healthy churches. International Friendship Connection (IFC) is an outreach ministry that hosts regular events to help international students feel welcomed in Madison, as well as weekly seeker Bible studies, called Family Groups, to help students encounter Jesus through the Bible in an accessible way. Members of Doxa lead and host these groups through the city in homes and apartments, as well as serving their international friends as needs come up.

For services and events to happen with excellence, we need an equipped group of people who can run sound, slides, operate cameras, and solve the problems that arise. The production team has a range of people, from people with years of experience in sound engineering to people brand new to slides. We welcome and train anyone who wants to help make our gatherings and events excellent to the glory of God.

Our mission is to share the Gospel and our lives for the Glory of God and the good of Madison. There are lots of opportunities to share our lives and exist for the good of our city as neighbors, friends, and coworkers, and we’ve identified a few key opportunities to meet tangible needs in our city. Get connected today for more information on how to get involved or information about our main local missions events and partnerships.

When we look at the ministry of Jesus or the life of the early church, one key element that’s often overlooked is food! Gathering over food connects us in ways that go beyond full stomachs. As teams serve early in the morning on Sundays, or as leaders gather for regular leader meetings, we have teams of people who help prepare and provide food, often serving behind the scenes in ways that have a huge impact.
-
As people walk in the doors of Doxa on a Sunday morning, the Hospitality Team helps them feel seen, find their way around the building, and get access to whatever their next step is. Hospitality team members play lots of different roles, like holding doors, setting up communion, ushering, making coffee, or refreshing the space between services. If you want to help Doxa be a warm and inviting family, consider joining Hospitality to make it happen!

Worship is more than just being able to play an instrument or hit a note - it’s expressing to God that He is worth everything. Our worship team helps lead our church to express this to God, whether on Sunday mornings or during ministry contexts during the week. Worship team is made up of members of Doxa who are growing in their musical excellence and lives as worshippers of God.
-
We want our family to be safe and free to worship on Sundays without having to worry about unforeseen situations. Our safety team is made up of members of Doxa who are trained to help keep our Sundays safe, and who are trained to step in when the need arises.

A theme of the Bible is God deserving and desiring worshippers all over the world, and He made a way for us to be in relationship with Him through Christ. But many people in the World have no access to know who God is or the way to be saved by faith in Jesus, let alone a healthy local church community. If you are interested in learning more about how to be involved, whether through prayer, supporting our overseas church planting work, or learning about going yourself, we’d love to help you take next steps.

As a church we regularly say “prayer is where the action is.” We want to be people devoted to prayer across our church family, and on Sunday mornings we have a team specially raised up to help minister to people in prayer after the service. Because of the sensitive nature of some of these times of prayer, this team is for members of Doxa, and requires an interview and orientation.
-
As God brings more people to our church family we continue to need help making people feel welcomed and like they have a place at Doxa - and this starts before they even walk in the doors. The parking lot team helps people move in and out of the parking lot so that people can both be safe as they come to Doxa, but more than that so they can have the opportunity to come hear about Jesus, without being turned away because they can’t find a spot.
-
God created beauty in the world and designed us to resonate with well designed graphics, videos, and photos representing His world. The Story team is made up of photographers, videographers, and designers who help Doxa share stories of what God is doing, and help with design and media projects that come up throughout the year.

The Medical Response Team is made up of registered nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals who attend Doxa, and are ready to respond when a medical emergency arises. This team is on call on Sundays, using a pager system to respond in partnership with the safety team to help people in moments of need.
